Autodemo,
the Leading Developer of Website and Software Demos
Time-saving process, expertise and technology allows
for
effective multimedia demos
created in three weeks or less
Louisville, KY – Many
multimedia firms try and take a “one-stop-shop” approach
by doing any type of work for clients. Autodemo, the
leading developer of website and software demos, doesn’t
work this way. In fact, Autodemo focuses on one thing – creating
the best demos for website and software companies and
doing it quickly.
The demos that Autodemo creates can be described as
an interactive guide that demonstrates a complex software
program or website. Autodemo develops their clients’ demos
in Macromedia Flash, and clients can stream their demos
from their website, and/or distribute them on CDs, via
e-mail and at tradeshows. According to Macromedia’s
website (http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/survey/), the
Flash player is already installed on 98 percent of users’ computers,
which makes the demos widely accepted.
“Our demos allow customers to see software and
web applications visually and with voiceovers that guide
them through the demo,” said J.C. Stites, founder
and CEO of Autodemo. “For web companies our demos
help increase awareness, turn browsers into buyers and
decrease customer service calls. On the software side,
the demos help software companies demonstrate their software’s
functionality without sending sales people or computers
across the county to do demos.”
Autodemo offers their clients a lead-time of three
weeks or less to complete their demo project. According
to Stites, this quick turnaround can be attributed to
Autodemo’s creative process, content expertise
and virtual work environment. “Since our focus
is specifically on demos, we have writers, producers
and developers that are 100 percent dedicated to creating
demo content that gets results,” said Stites, who
is usually involved in clients’ projects up front.
Autodemo’s Streamlined Development Process (SDP™)
is another factor that contributes to the speedy development
process and uses a minimal amount of the client’s
time. At the heart of the SDP™ is a “capture
session” where the client and an Autodemo producer
use the web to go over the contents of the demo remotely.
Autodemo records the capture session and uses it to write
the demo’s script. Once the script is approved
and the demo is built, Autodemo posts it to the web
for clients to review. “Most of our clients have
never been to our offices,” said Stites, “we
work with them via the Internet and phone to save them
time and complete their project in three weeks or less.”
Autodemo was started in 1998 to create multimedia demos
that software companies, such as Microsoft, would use
to demonstrate their software’s functionality.
As the Internet became more popular and more of a business
tool, Autodemo began making the same types of demos for
web-based companies, such as Amazon.com and eBay.
Prior to starting Autodemo in 1998, Stites worked as
a multimedia producer in Portland, Oregon for a variety
of high-tech clients including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard,
Intel and Symantec. In addition to his CEO duties, Stites
wears the hat of executive producer, working directly
with clients and Autodemo’s creative and development
teams.
“We have a process for creating demos that works
very well,” said Stites, “and I stay involved
in day-to-day activities to refine, improve and add as
much value to this process as I can.”
